ITSG enterprise architecture development is based on a DoDAF compliant framework that requires use of detailed procedures, processes, and guidelines. We are critical to the success of such initiatives which relies on procedures and process flows that ensure architectural model completeness, consistency and traceability to government documents. Our DoDAF compliant enterprise architecture implementations are generally conducted as three interactive phases. The first phase involves research and due diligence on the “as-is” network systems are performed to provide an initial foundation for ongoing enterprise architecture development. This phase will focus primarily on physical and logical connectivity and functional changes to the existing network needed to support our customer’s mission requirements of their enterprise architecture. Based on completion of initial research, DoDAF architecture views are developed during the second phase in a top-down approach. A series of interactive operational views of the network systems are derived from an overarching all-view (also known as a base AV-01) perspective of the architecture. During the third phase, modeling and simulation are relied upon to critically analyze network performance and validate the architecture design.
ITSG continues to enhance their capabilities through strengthening our architecture approach utilizing Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) for both commercial and government entities. Our experience has demonstrated that the management of large organizations employing sophisticated systems and technologies in pursuit of joint missions demands a structured, repeatable method for evaluating investments and investment alternatives, implementing organizational change, creating new systems, and deploying new technologies. ITSG’s expertise in DoDAF will aide our clients with the guidance for the development of architectures.
